Justin Francis has a knack for channeling emotion through sound. His multi-faceted and innovative recording approach as a Grammy award-winning engineer, mixer and producer has led to a lineage of work with a range of artists across an eclectic spectrum of musical genres. Raised in western Pennsylvania and now having immersed himself in the Nashville music scene for well over a decade, he has worked alongside artists like Sheryl Crow, Kacey Musgraves, Tyler Childers, Lake Street Dive, Justin Timberlake, Madison Cunningham, Gary Clark Jr, Sarah Jarosz and Lauren Daigle. Justin’s dedication to serving the song paired with an intention to advocate for and uplift artists makes him one of the most sought after creative minds in music today.

Growing up just outside of Pittsburgh in the sun starved hills of western Pennsylvania, Justin found his stride at an early age. While starting to play in various bands at age 13 introduced him to a life of music, it was his first recording session that solidified his path to being on the other side of the glass as an engineer/producer. Relentlessly working throughout junior high and high school, clients began to rapidly expand from locals to the greater North Appalachian region, and a calling was unveiled.
With hundreds of recording sessions and a high school diploma under his belt, a move to Phoenix, Arizona was set in motion to attend a technical school for the recording arts. From there, Justin moved to Nashville, Tennessee to intern at the prestigious Sound Stage Studios — a loyal relationship that eventually cultivated a full time engineering position and lasted more than a decade. There Justin honed his skills as an engineer in the fast paced environment Nashville has come to be known for.
Now as an independent, Justin has worked with a diverse clientele in nearly every studio in Nashville and mixes from his studio in Ashland City, Tennessee. His combination of technical knowledge, musicality, enthusiasm and passion for greatness are what keeps artists and producers coming back project after project.
Some of those recent projects in the works include Brittany Howard, Caylee Hammack, Gary Clark Jr and Grace Bowers.
